On March 30, 2005,  the City of Wilmington contracted with Lee Wrenn & Associates, Inc. to act as the City's agent for the acquisition of easements for the Longstreet Drainage Improvements Project. 

Goals for the project were developed based on concerns of property owners and the City’s storm water management program. Goals include:

• Reducing flood impacts on roads, properties, and structures

• Reducing loss of property from erosion and creation of stable banks

• Preventing falling trees

• Improving water quality

• Providing easements to allow maintenance of the drainage way

Easements are scheduled for completion prior to November 2005. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in early 2006.

Property owners whose property is touched by the project will be contacted by Lee Wrenn & Associates, Inc. with details and information concerning the project.
